Woman From Merrimack NH Accused Of Blowing A 0.42 On A Breathalyzer Test After Crash In Chelmsford

CHELMSFORD, MA — A woman from New Hampshire was arrested on her third drunken driving charge after being accused of fleeing the scene of a crash and being found with open containers near a childcare center on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Alicia Mazerall, 38, of Merrimack, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor-third offense, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Around 1:30 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Oak Street and Littleton Road for a report of a hit-and-run crash. Witnesses told police the driver of a white Honda CR-V struck another vehicle and then fled the scene.

The officers searched the area and found the CR-V in the parking lot of a nearby childcare center on Littleton Road.

“Police located several opened and unopened alcohol bottles in the vehicle,” Chief Gary Hannagan of the Chelmsford Police Department said.

The officers investigated the incident and arrested Mazerall.

During booking, she agreed to a breathalyzer, which registered a blood alcohol content level of 0.42 — over five times the legal limit, Hannagan said.

Mazerall is scheduled to be arraigned today in Lowell MA District Court.

Hannagan said there were no injuries sustained during the crash.

According to a report on Patch, Mazerall was involved in a two-vehicle crash in February 2013.

In January 2022, her license was revoked by the state of New Hampshire, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader. At the time, Mazerall was living in Manchester.

Nashua police arrested her on a domestic violence charge in August 2024.
