Merrimack Woman Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge

Police accused April Leonard of striking another person in the face during an argument Saturday.

MERRIMACK, NH — A woman was arrested Saturday after a domestic violence incident in town, according to police. Officers were sent to a home around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a verbal argument, according to Sgt. Richard McKenzie of the Merrimack Police Department. The argument was between two household members and April Leonard, 45, was identified as a suspect.

"Upon arrival, officers made contact with the two involved parties," McKenzie said. "During which time, it was learned that the above April Leonard had assaulted another household member by striking that person in the face during an argument."

Leonard was then taken into custody for one count of domestic violence. She was processed and released on personal recognizance bail and is due in Merrimack District Court on Dec. 10.
