Nashua Man Arrested On Computer Services Charge In Merrimack

MERRIMACK, NH — A Gate City man was arrested recently in Merrimack on a felony computer services charge after being accused of attempting to meet with a person he thought was a girl for sex, according to Merrimack police. On New Year's Day, investigators in Merrimack, in affiliation with the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, began an investigation of Candido Garcia Collazo, 28, of Beard Street in Nashua, according to Lt. Chris Spillane of the Merrimack Police Department. Collazo, police alleged, started communicating through an online service with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

"(Collazo) attempted to solicit sexual images from them," Spillane stated. "(He) sent sexually explicit images to the person he believed was a juvenile female and attempted to lure the juvenile to a predetermined location in order to perform sexual acts on them."

The next day, Collazo was arrested on one count of felony certain uses of computer services prohibited charge in Merrimack. He was taken to police headquarters, processed, and held on preventative detention. Collazo was scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Jan. 3.
