Nashua Woman Arrested for Drunk Driving in Merrimack

On the Daniel Webster Highway, over the Bedford line, Jessica Mele was arrested, allegedly with medication she didn't have a script for.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman was arrested yesterday for drunk driving after a traffic stop on the Daniel Webster Highway, according to police. Jessica Mele, 21, of Gregg Road in Nashua, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and possession of prescription medication without a prescription.

Police were sent to the Daniel Webster Highway near the Bedford town line yesterday for a report of a vehicle operating erratically. The officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of a local business and spoke with the driver – Mele – and investigated the incident.

“Mele showed signs of impairment while speaking with officers and after the investigation was completed, she was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor,” Sgt. Eric Marquis of the Merrimack Police Department. “During an inventory of Mele’s vehicle prescription medication was found in a purse within the vehicle. It was later determined that Mele did not possess a prescription for the medication found.”

Mele was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail. She is due in court on Dec. 8.
