Phony Fundraising Site Lands Woman with False Report Charge
Merrimack Police allege that Taylor Tibbetts faked injuries to her toddler, blamed it on her ex in order to raise money.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local woman was arrested and charged with false report to law enforcement after allegedly faking injuries to her son in order to raise money via a GoFundMe website, according to police.
Taylor Tibbetts met with police last year and alleged that her toddler had been abused by his father, according to police. She then sent up a website to raise money and posted pictures of her son.

“The page stated that a portion of the money was going to be used to hire an attorney and attempt to get full custody of her son,” according to Sgt. Cassell of the Merrimack Police Department. “During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Derry NH Police Department discovered that the pictures used on the GoFundMe page were photo shopped.”

Detectives continued to work the case and then, filed a warrant for Tibbetts’ arrest. She turned herself in to police on April 17, 2016, and was processed and released on bail.
