Police: Tips Led to Attempted Robbery Suspect

Anonymous tips after a video posted on the Merrimack Police Department’s Facebook page have led to the arrest of a Nashua woman on an attempted robbery.

Katie A. Emery, 39, of Railroad Square in Nashua, was arrested on Feb. 6, 2015, and charged with attempted robbery, a felony, and breach of bail conditions.

According to a report, on Feb. 1, police received a 911 call from the clerk at Jia’s Market on Amherst Street about an attempted robbery at the store by a woman.

“According to witnesses, a female entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk,” according to Lt. Denise I. Roy. “The clerk refused to give the woman any money and after a brief conversation, the female left the premises without any money.”

Investigators posted the video online and immediately received “several” anonymous tips about the incident, which reportedly led investigators to Emery.

“After an investigation, it was learned that Emery was in fact the female who attempted to rob the market and an arrest warrant was issued and Emery turned herself into police,” Roy stated.

Emery was held on $10,000 cash bail and will be arraigned on Feb. 9.

According to online reports, Emery was arrested in October 2014 on an aggravated driving while intoxicated on drugs charge. In 2012, according to a post on Patch, she was involved in an accident on Babossic Lake Road. She was arrested in November 2008 in Nashua on a felony criminal mischief charge after she reportedly poured sugar into the gas tank of a vehicle.
