Mother, Daughter From Roxbury Arrested for Shoplifting

SALEM, NH - Police arrested two women on Dec. 21, for allegedly attempting to steal more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s.

Adelaida Jordan, 33, of Roxbury, was charged with two felony willful concealment charges, endangering the welfare of a child, breach of bail, and false reports to law enforcement. Also arrested was Chabellie Cruz, 18, of Roxbury, for willful concealment.

Officers were sent to Kohl’s at just after noontime on Dec. 21, for a report of two shoplifters in custody.

The store’s loss prevention department alleged that a mother and her two children – one, that was 8-years-old – had taken several items from the sales floor, walked into changing rooms, and then removed the items from the packaging, and left the store.

“The total value of all merchandise recovered was in excess of $1,000,” according to Lt. Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.

Dolan noted that Jordan had just been arraigned in Salem District Court on a felony shoplifting charge earlier and was out on bail. She was arrested again and held on $7,500 cash bail.

Cruz was released on personal recognizance bail.

The child, a boy, was released to family members, according to the report.
