On Saturday, June 17th the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Safe Sitter Training Course from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
Participants will learn tips to manage behavior along with the ages and stages of child development. Class will also include rescue skills such as choking rescue and CPR and how to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.
