School Bus Accident Leads to Multiple Charges
Merrimack mom in court next week after her child allegedly shifted a bus into gear, causing it to crash into a building.

A local woman was arrested recently on a warrant after allegedly allowing her child to run safety checks on a school bus that later, the child caused to crash into a building.
Tiffanie A. Brown, 32, of London Court in Merrimack, was arrested on Jan. 12, 2015, and charged with two counts of reckless conduct and two counts of child endangerment.
According to a police report, officers were sent to an accident involving a school bus on London Court on Jan. 8, around 8:45 a.m.

During the investigation, police allege that Brown allowed her 5-year-old child to sit in the driver’s seat of the bus to perform the morning safety checks. While doing this, the child reportedly shifted the bus into reverse causing it to “drive uncontrollably backwards and into a building located on the property,” Lt. M. Tarleton of the Merrimack Police Department.
At the same time, another child, an 8-year-old, was also on the bus and was reportedly “hanging onto one of the bus doors,” according to a report.

Tarleton noted, “Fortunately no one was injured in the incident and only property damage was sustained.”
A warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest and she was arrested on Jan. 12. She’s due in court on Jan. 27.
