Two Boy Scouts from Merrimack Troop 424 attain rank of Eagle on August 9, 2015 at their Eagle Court of Honor

James Jolly and Connor Maloney are the newest Eagle Scouts from Merrimack Troop 424. They were presented with the rank of Eagle at their August 9, 2015 Eagle Court of Honor that was held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Merrimack, NH.
The Eagle Scout rank is Boy Scouts’ highest advancement ranking and boys must meet specific requirements in service, outdoor skills and leadership along with earning 21 specific Eagle required badges. Scouts have advanced from Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, before earning the rank of Eagle. Each candidate must complete a service project benefiting the community to display the leadership they have learned in the Scouting program.
James’s Eagle project was the construction of a running trail along the Souhegan River that connected the Wildcat Falls trail system to Merrimack High School. This project gave the cross country and track teams off-road access to these trails to use for their practice. James will be attending Clemson University this fall, and has been awarded an Eagle Scout scholarship. He was also president and salutatorian of the senior class at Merrimack High School.
