Underage Male Operator Was Involved in Merrimack Car-Split Crash: NHSP

Report: The vehicle was traveling north on the Daniel Webster Highway at "an extremely high rate of speed" with no lights on.

MERRIMACK, NH — New Hampshire State Police yesterday released more information about an early morning crash on Sunday morning in Merrimack that led to a driver crashing a Toyota Camry which later split in two on the Daniel Webster Highway. At just after 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2017, police attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of Industrial Drive while the vehicle was traveling north without its lights on, according to Sgt. Steven Wheeler of the NHSP. The vehicle, however, reportedly fled the scene “at an extremely high rate of speed,” according to Wheeler, that caused “the officer to lose sight of the vehicle.”

“Minutes later, members of the Merrimack Police Department came across the vehicle as it hard crashed in the area of 370 Daniel Webster Highway,” Wheeler noted.
