Week in Review: Sept. 25-Oct. 1

On Monday, Merrimack police arrested a pair of siblings, one who lives in Nashua, the other in Merrimack, charging them in relation to a Shawn and Nicole Bailey are said to have stolen money from a an apartment on Thornton Road and reportedly returned to the scene of the crime sometime after fleeing in a white Dodge cargo van. Shawn Bailey also had warrants out for his arrest on burglary and criminal threatening charges.

On Tuesday, Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod at St. Anselm College's Institute of Politics where he spoke with a group of business and political leaders about the uphill battle the country faces still with the economy as well as the battle President Barack Obama faces in the 2012 election.

On Wednesday, Nashua Patch Editor Carol Robidoux attended an event with presidential contender for an hour-long question and answer session with residents from around the state. Romney responded to questions about the economy, jobs, health care and government spending posed to him by members of the audience. According to the report, Romney took on the crowd with ease, and spent 15 minutes covering his usual campaign talking points, leaning mostly toward economics, before fielding the public's questions.

On Thursday, we brought you the story of a Goffstown teacher, formerly of Merrimack, who'd been who still lives in the couple's Merrimack home. Cassandra Beauchesne, of Bedford, was arrested Monday on criminal mischief charges after she swung a lawn chair during an altercation with her husband, breaking his computer. Hours after a hearing in court in which she was prohibited from contacting her husband, Beauchesne allegedly sent him text messages and called him forcing a subsequent arrest on charges of stalking and violating her bail conditions. 

Also on Thursday, Windham Patch Editor Michael Ryan brought you the story of Bethany Bernasconi, a Windham High School science teacher and Merrimack resident, who was surprised with an assembly at the school recognizing her as this year's Bernasconi now has a shot at winning recognition as the national Teacher of the Year.

Mitt Romney while Michele Bachmann has nearly disappeared from relevance in New Hampshire.
