Y's Food Drive nets 130 cases of food and necessities for Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter

The YMCA of Greater Nashua is pleased to share that its food drive during the month of September netted more than 130 cases of non-perishable food, diapers and personal hygiene items. This week the Y delivered these items to the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter. One of the Y’s main focus areas is social responsibility and we consider our efforts to help ease the burden of local food pantries important to the work that we do in the community. Over the past four years, the Y has been able to donate over 550 cases of non-perishable food, diapers and personal hygiene items to local food pantries and shelters. At the Y, we realize that hunger is not a holiday issue. We are pleased that our fall drive helps out at a time when the need is great. Our goal is to give people who are struggling the assistance they need.

Our members and staff have been very generous. We know that the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter has faced challenges keeping their shelves stocked this year, and are pleased that our donations will help those who are most needy in our community.
