Milford Teen Indicted for Negligent Homicide

Benjamin Cook is accused of drunk driving during a July 2015 crash in Weare that took the life of Dunbarton teen, Trevor Gonyer.

MANCHESTER, NH - A Milford teen has been indicted for negligent homicide and other charges stemming from a crash last year in Weare, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

Benjamin Cook, 18, of Milford, was indicted by a Hillsborough County grand jury on negligent homicide, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and driving after license suspension charges.

The crash occurred on July 3, 2015, on Route 114 near the New Boston and Weare line. At around 1 a.m. that morning, New Boston Police attempted to pull over a pickup truck that reportedly did not have its taillights illuminated but the truck allegedly wouldn’t stop. It later crashed in Weare and all of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Trevor Gonyer, 17, of Dunbarton, died as a result of the crash; a teenager from Weare was also injured at the crash scene.


Cook was allegedly driving more than 75 mph without headlights on the road, according to reports. A dog also had to be euthanized, according to NHSP.
