MILFORD, NH — A Milford resident was arrested at the “No Kings” protest in the oval after being accused of disorderly conduct.

Jessica Ann Yule, 37, of Milford, was arrested at 3:08 p.m. on March 28, on disorderly conduct-obstructs vehicular or pedestrian traffic, simple assault, and resisting arrest charges.

Yule was arrested after police were called to the oval during the protest to address a protester blocking the sign and berating a counterprotester. The counterprotester was “Sidewalk Steve” Stephen Scaer of Nashua, a parental-rights activist and opponent of gender-affirming care, who was in Union Square, not far from the main protest.

In the five-minute video, posted later on X-Twitter, Yule can be seen blocking Scaer’s sign, with Scaer accusing them of stalking him because of his sign.

“No one gave you the authority to be king either,” Scaer can be heard saying to another activist who asked him to move along. “I’m not going to be pushed around by her, and I’m not going to be pushed around by you.”

Yule demanded Scaer remove his “hate speech” and sign, while holding an “abolish ICE” sign, stating, “The Constitution doesn’t cover hate speech… take your hate crime, take your hate speech, and go away.”

Yule stated they were blocking Scaer’s sign to protect even one transgender person who might see it. They then got upset because people were not using the proper pronouns, even though they were wearing a mask.

Police arrived, and Scaer told them Yule had been blocking him from walking on the sidewalk for the last 20 minutes. An officer turned to Yule and stated, “You have to let him go.” Yule then countered, “You have to let that sign… that sign needs to go.” Yule then stated he was not allowed to protest and “there’s no such thing as a trans child. It’s not true. I’m going to be up his a-- until he gets rid of that sign.”

Officers attempted to reason with Yule, giving them the choice to either allow Scaer to walk on the sidewalk or face arrest. The officer turned to Scaer and said, “You’re more than welcome to walk.” After doing that, Yule can be seen attempting to block the sign.

“He can move all he wants,” they said, “I’m blocking the sign.”

Officers continued to attempt to reason with Yule, saying they could not block his sign. But they were not having any of it.

The officers then attempted to place Yule in handcuffs, and they could be seen dropping to the ground and struggling to keep out of the cuffs. After 45 seconds, she was lifted up off the ground. Yule could be heard sobbing and screaming, “It hurts… I was just blocking the sign…”

A fourth officer also arrived to assist in getting Yule into a police cruiser.
