1 Hurt in Nashua Fire on Ash Street

Nashua firefighters said they arrived to find a raging fire in an apartment building.

NASHUA, NH — One person was hurt in a fire on Ash Street in Nashua Wednesday.

The fire broke out in a two-story apartment building at 62 Ash St. at about 4 p.m.

Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan said the fire started on the first floor. The occupants fled after smoke detectors went off, Kerrigan said. One occupant suffered a minot foot injury.

Kerrigan said firefighters arrived to find a “fast-moving” fire. They extinguished the flames and contained damage to the first floor, Kerrigan said.

The Red Cross provided food and shelter to two displaced residents.
