Weather forecast:
• High school roundup: Anderson, Gorman lift Merrimack boys (unionleader.com) — Nashua South’s softball team took a tough 16-0 loss to Windham, as pitcher Lily Carballeira dominated with a shutout and big day at the plate. The roundup also highlights strong performances by Merrimack boys lacrosse and several other area high school teams.
• NY man accused of $167k Hannaford fraud to plead not guilty (wmtw.com) — Federal prosecutors say a New York man faces wire fraud charges tied to hundreds of allegedly unpaid Hannaford To-Go orders, including several at stores in Nashua and nearby Hudson and Rochester. He has pleaded not guilty, is free on bond, and is scheduled for trial in June in federal court in Concord, where he could face a lengthy prison term and substantial fines if convicted.
• EPA grants $648K for NH sewer infrastructure upgrade (concordmonitor.com) — Nashua’s aging sewer system, which sends untreated sewage into the Merrimack River during heavy rains, is part of a statewide problem the EPA is targeting with $648,000 in new grants. While the funding is small compared with long-term needs, it could help New Hampshire communities, including Nashua, plan and prioritize critical stormwater and sewer upgrades.
