Attempted Kidnapping of Nashua Boy Was a Hoax, Police Say
Police said on Fri., May 22, a 12-year-old boy told officers a man grabbed him on Lake Street. That turned out to be a lie.

Police said an attempted kidnapping in Nashua last week turned out to be a hoax.
Police said on Fri., May 22, a 12-year-old boy told officers a man grabbed him on Lake Street (shown in above photo). The boy flagged down a passerby who notified police.
The boy told police the man was in his 30s and was wearing a hood, sunglasses, and a gray sweatshirt, last seen running down Lake Street.

That was a lie, police said.
The boy later admitted he made up the story because he was afraid of getting in trouble for coming home late.

Police said the boy has been counseled and will not face charges.
