Bad Nashua Crash On Everett Turnpike: Driver Trapped

Nashua firefighters used cutting equipment to free a driver trapped after a crash on the Everett Turnpike.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua firefighters early Wednesday used cutting equipment to free a driver after a crash on the Everett Turnpike. The crash happened at about 2 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway just past Exit 4.

The driver and a passenger were in a Mercury Mariner when the vehicle hit a barrier near the high-speed lane. The passenger made it out of the vehicle but the driver was trapped, according to Deputy fire Chief Glen MacDonald. Firefighters used cutting tools to free the driver, who was subsequently hospitalized.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
