Property Tax Relief for NH Homeowners

Volunteers from the AARP Foundation will be at the library to help you file for a refund on the property tax you pay to your NH city or town. Appointments are suggested, but not required. Call 603-689-4414 to schedule an appointment.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• Income for filing singly: $37,000 or less adjusted gross income; Income for married filing jointly or head of household: $47,000 or less adjusted gross income. Your adjusted gross income amount can be found on line 11 of your 2024 income tax return.
• Be a homeowner and pay property tax on the home.
• Lived in the home on April 1, 2024.

Please bring with you:

• Your final property tax bill for 2024 (usually the December bill).
• Copy of your 2024 federal tax return for yourself and all adults (18 or older) living in your home.
