City Of Nashua Hires New Economic Development Director
Liz Hannum originally hails from central Massachusetts; she recently served as the executive director of the Oregon City Downtown Assoc.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua has a new economic development director.
Liz Hannum started the job on Monday, after coming to the state from Oregon City, Oregon, where she was the city’s downtown association executive director for about five years. While in the Pacific Northwest, she confronted several “unforeseen challenges,” including the coronavirus pandemic, wildfires, ice storms, and other issues. Hannum is originally from central Massachusetts.
“She made a name for herself by not backing down to the powers-that-be — including pushing her mayor to open businesses up again during their state’s lockdown and facing off against a county commission unwilling to pursue a grant,” officials said.

Hannum said she would “be building partnerships to increase the affordable and market-rate housing availability, but also to help revitalize and build community in several of the city’s neighborhoods including their downtown,” in her new position in Nashua. City officials hope to “put her skills to use,” revitalizing and strengthening Nashua’s commercial corridors, including the Daniel Webster Highway and Amherst Street.
Hannum takes over the position from Tim Cummings, now Nashua’s administrative services director.
