Deadbeat Landscaper Charged with Theft

Victim told police he never started the job he was paid to do.

A city landscaper was arrested April 5 on a warrant issued back in July of 2011 charging him with failing to do work he was paid to do.

William Mackey, 31, of 84 Lock Street, was officially charged with theft by deception, a class B felony.

According to police, a city resident filed a complaint against Macky in July of 2011 saying Mackey had allegedly failed to begin work on a landscaping job he'd been paid $1,500 to work on.

A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Mackey has a $2,000 cash or surety bail on this charge and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on April 5. He is being held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester, New Hampshire on an unrelated matter.
