- Develop a broader vision of school improvement that embraces multiple pathways (degree, certificates, certifications, advanced training) helping young people succeed in their journey from adolescence to adulthood. High-quality career and technical education is one of the most important of these pathways.
- Ask New Hampshire manufacturers and other business leaders to play a greatly expanded role in supporting the pathways system, and in providing more opportunities for young adults to participate in work-based learning and actual jobs related to manufacturing and their programs of study.
- Discuss the need for secondary and higher education leaders, parents, manufacturing and business executives and communities in every region of New Hampshire to develop a new compact between society and our young people. The compact’s central goal will be to equip every young adult in the Granite State, by his or her mid-20s, with the education and experience he or she needs to lead a successful life –– with a strong emphasis on creating a more vibrant manufacturing economy.
Please join us on May 24! Special guests will include Governor John Lynch, Bill Symonds, Director of the Pathways to Prosperity Project at Harvard University, and New Hampshire’s business, education and elected leaders.
