Fatal Nashua Fire: Victim Identified

Michael Martell, 58, of Nashua, died in a fire at his Nashua home February 26, 2017.

NASHUA, NH — The man killed in a fire at the River Pines mobile home park in Nashua Sunday night has been identified. The victim is Michael Martell, 58, authorities announced Wednesday afternoon. His manner of death was smoke inhalation, according to state fire Marshal William Degnan.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental. The blaze broke out at about 8:30 p.m. at Martell's residence at 24 Sunrise Trail, according to Deputy fire Chief George Walker. Firefighters arrived and upon entering the home found him dead inside, Walker said.

"Neighbors reported that the home was occupied by one resident, his whereabouts unknown," Walker said in a statement. "Crews were able to make a quick entry and conducted a search of the home. Fire crews searching the home discovered a single occupant whom had perished."
