Felon Accused Of Burglarizing Nashua Home, Business In July 2021

NASHUA, NH — A felon was arrested by police on Wednesday on burglary charges after a multi-month investigation.

Around 1 a.m. on July 6, 2021, police were sent to a home in the city for a report of a burglary. When officers arrived, Det. Lt. Joshua Albert of the Nashua Police Department said they found evidence indicating someone had forced entry into the home. At the time, the residents were home. But the suspect fled before the police arrived, he said.

“Officers also discovered additional forced entry into an adjoining business,” Albert said. “The business was closed at the time of the incident.”

Detectives assigned to the criminal investigation division furthered the investigation and identified Miguel Saez, 58, of an unknown address, “as the person responsible for forcing entry into both the private residence and adjoining business,” Albert said. Detectives applied for a warrant on two burglary charges.

Saez was arrested on the two felony counts around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. He faces 22 years in prison as well as fines. Saez was released on personal recognizance and will be in Hillsborough County Superior Court for arraignment on Feb. 9.

According to superior court records, Saez’s criminal history dates back to the late 1980s.

In February and May 1989, he was accused of first-degree assault, controlled drug act, and possession-sale of a narcotic drug charges in Nashua. A jury found him guilty of the charges in August 1992, January 1993, and May 1994.

In December 1993, he was tried on three acts prohibited; controlled drug charges and found guilty via a jury trial in March 1994.

Saez was accused of three controlled drug: acts prohibited charges out of Nashua in January 2019 and two controlled drug: acts prohibited charges in Nashua in July 2020 but all five charges were nolle prossed.

Saez has active controlled drug act-possession-subsequent and falsifying physical evidence charges out of Nashua from April 2022. He has a plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 23.

According to court documents online, Saez was involved in a heroin dealing case in November 2003 along with a woman he met while in a Manchester halfway house after both had completed their prison stints. His request for a lower sentence after she cut a deal was rejected by the U.S. Court of Appeals in 2006.
