NASHUA, N.H. - With the purchase of something as simple as a new pair of shoes, Fidelity Investments volunteers helped Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua members gain confidence for the upcoming school year while teaching valuable lessons about budgeting and financial decision-making through the annual Kicks for Kids event at Alec's Shoes.

The event paired more than 150 Club members with Fidelity volunteers who helped them select a new pair of shoes within a set budget. While the outing ensured youth had a back-to-school essential, it also provided an opportunity to learn valuable financial literacy skills through real-world decision-making.

Since 2015, Kicks for Kids has impacted more than 1,600 youth from Greater Nashua and surrounding communities. Over the years, the event has become a meaningful tradition that combines community support, mentorship, and financial education in a way that leaves a lasting impression on participating youth.

As members browsed the aisles of Alec's Shoes, Fidelity volunteers worked alongside them to compare options, evaluate prices, and make thoughtful purchasing decisions. Through those conversations, youth gained hands-on experience managing a budget while finding a pair of shoes that fit both their needs and personal style.

"Each of these 150 pairs of shoes makes an impact—building confidence, teaching valuable life skills, and reminding our kids that their community believes in them,” said Craig Fitzgerald, Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua. “We are deeply grateful to the Fidelity associates who made that possible."

For many Club members, the event serves as a positive milestone before the start of a new school year. Beyond the shoes themselves, the experience reinforces important life skills and reminds youth that their community is invested in their success.

“Kicks for Kids is a simple but meaningful way for our associates to show up for kids in the community—helping them choose something they feel good about while having a few real conversations about spending and priorities,” said Luis Corga, Senior Vice President and Site General Manager at Fidelity Investments.

The collaboration between Fidelity Investments and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua extends far beyond a single day each year. Fidelity associates regularly volunteer their time to support Club programs and special events, helping create opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

Kicks for Kids continues to demonstrate how a simple act of giving can have a meaningful impact, equipping young people with both the confidence to walk into a new school year and the skills to make informed choices along the way.
