Local Man Charged with Murdering His Wife

A Merrimack man on Friday was charged with murdering his wife.

Joseph Lawrence, 62, of 86 Back River Rd., was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing Darlene Lawrence, 61.

Police said the received a 911 call at about 6:21 a.m. and responding officers discovered Darlene’s body. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed on her today.

Joseph Lawrence was scheduled to be arraigned today at 1 p.m.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the case and asked anyone with information to contact State Police Sergeant John Sonia at 603-223-8578 or Merrimack Lieutenant Denise Roy at 603-420-1809.
