Massachusetts Man Is 13th Arrested In Child Computer Sex Dragnet

NASHUA, NH — Another man has been arrested after being accused of attempted statutory rape and other charges as part of the Operation Cyber Guardian. Joshua Carrasquillo, 37, of Hollis Street in Pepperell, Massachusetts, was arrested on June 10, 2019, and charged with certain uses of computer services prohibited, attempted felonious sexual assault, and falsifying physical evidence, all felonies. According to Lt. Daniel Mederos of the Nashua Police Department, members of the department as well as the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force launched an investigation of Carrasquillo as part of the joint-agency operation that arrested 12 men from all over the Northeast back in May.

"During the course of this investigation, the subject agreed to travel to Nashua on June 10, 2019, to engage in sexual contact with the person he believed to be a juvenile," Mederos stated. "As a result of the investigation, Carrasquillo was arrested after traveling from his home and arriving in Nashua to meet the person he believed to be a juvenile."

Carrasquillo also faces a falsification charge after allegedly deleting a mobile application "believing that the police were about to institute an investigation," he added.

Carrasquillo is being held on $5,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on June 11. He faces up to 21 years in prison and fines.

Twelve men, one as far away as Maryland, are accused by the task force of attempting to have sex with contacts they believed to be children on social media apps. At a press conference in May, investigators stated that they expected more charges to be issued as part of Operation Cyber Guardian.
