Massachusetts Teen Arrested On Forgery, Theft Charges

NASHUA, NH — A Massachusetts teenager is facing two criminal charges, including a felony, after an incident with a financial institution in Nashua more than a year and a half ago. On Nov. 8, 2018, Alysia Lawson, 19, of Burt Street in Norton, MA, "entered into a financial institution located within Nashua and cashed a forged check," according to Lt. Daniel Mederos of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Nashua Police Department. The division open its investigation of Lawson on Jan. 28, 2019.

"Upon completion of the investigation, Nashua Police Department detectives completed a warrant for Lawson’s arrest," he said.

Lawson was arrested Wednesday on felony forgery and misdemeanor theft by deception charges and refused bail. She was scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court Thursday. Lawson faces up to eight years in prison on the charges.
