MicroSociety Academy Charter School is Expanding its Campus!
MicroSociety Academy, a tuition free K-8 charter school, has expanded to an Upper and Lower School Campus.
Nashua, NH (November 18, 2024) — MicroSociety Academy Charter School (MACS), a chartered public school for grades K-8, is expanding its school program to include two buildings, an upper 5-8 school and lower K-4 school. The school campus is located off of West Hollis St. in Nashua and we are excited to announce that the new upper school will be fully operational in the Fall of 2025. The new facility will feature a brand new STEM room, multipurpose room, art and music rooms, flexible student workstations, and new and attractive classroom spaces.
MicroSociety Academy’s mission is to empower students to acquire the heart, knowledge, and skills for thriving in a 21st century global society by collaboratively creating and operating their own school-based “MicroSociety” - a microcosm of the real world. The MicroSociety Academy curriculum uses innovative and engaging standards-based instruction that is enhanced with “real world” concepts. Our K-4th grade students are given the opportunity during a daily MicroSociety period to apply their learning by reporting to a job and working in their own miniature society, a “Micro” society.
Our 5th-8th grade students' experience with the MicroSociety pedagogy is delivered in an elective style format. Students choose from courses infused with real-life applications which introduce them to how their world works and support them in their post-MACS education. From Sustainability to Community Service to STEM based classes with drones and 3D printing, our middle school students will focus on a different elective each trimester.
