Nashua Boys Rescued After Falling Through Ice

NASHUA, NH — Three Nashua boys were saved Monday night after falling through the ice at Millstone Village. The ordeal was a "close call," fire officials said. One boy was hospitalized and expected to be OK.

The trio ventured out on thin ice over a small body of water by Blackstone Drive and fell through, officials said. They managed to get to safety thanks to residents of a nearby housing complex who pulled them to safety. One of the boys was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for an evaluation.

Last week, Nashua firefighters rescued a dog that fell through the ice at Sandy Pond.

"Nashua Fire Rescue wants to stress to everyone that 'no ice is safe at this time of year,'" officials said in a statement. "Please keep an eye on young children and your pets near partially frozen bodies of water."
