Nashua Driver Involved in Fatal Crash

Police said a crash victim was ejected then hit by five vehicles.


A Nashua driver was involved in a fatal crash in Massachusetts Sunday.

Police said Danielson Dacostatavares, 20, of Brockton, Mass., was driving on Route 24 in Stoughton when he crashed—ejecting his passenger, Fabricio Tavares, 21, also of Brockton.

Tavares was then struck by five vehicles. He was pronounced dead.

  • A 2005 Lincoln LS operated by a 60-year-old male from Brockton
  • A 2009 Audi Q7 operated by a 45-year-old female from Mattapan, Mass.
  • A 2007 Lexus IS250 operated by a 21-year-old male from Brockton
  • A 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 36-year-old male from Nashua
  • A 2009 Toyota Matrix operated by a 49-year-old female from Middleborough, Mass.

None of the drivers were hurt.

Dacostatavares was charged with drunk driving, vehicular homicide, and a lane violation. He suffered minor injuries, police said.
