Nashua Health Center Owes $54K to State for False Claims

The health center agreed to pay back money the state said it falsely claimed for services rendered.

Greater Nashua Mental Health Center has settled a False Claims Act matter with the state, agreeing to pay $54,281.76 for improperly billed Medicaid services.

Attorney General Michael A. Delaney announced the settlement on Jan. 30, the result of an investigation launched in 2012, after a review by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit detected improper billing practices for psychosocial rehabilitation services.

Delaney said Greater Nashua Mental Health received payments from the Medicaid program that it was not entitled to receive. The billings at issue spanned the years 2008 through 2012.
