Nashua Man Accused Of Strangling, Assaulting Woman: Police

NASHUA, NH — A local man was arrested last week on assault and other charges after a domestic violence incident in Nashua. At just after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, officers were sent to a Gate City address for a report of a domestic dispute. The officers investigated the incident and arrested Jaime Torres-Roman, 39, of Nashua, on various domestic violence offenses, according to Lt. Robert Page of the Nashua Police Department.

"The female victim, known to Torres-Roman, stated to police that Torres-Roman assaulted her to include choking her," Page stated. "As a result, detectives from the special investigations division furthered the investigation."

This led to Torres-Roman being charged with felony second-degree domestic violence-assault.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries but declined medical treatment, Page said.

Torres-Roman was charged at 2:29 a.m. on July 5, 2019, with three counts of domestic violence-simple assault, criminal mischief, and the felony strangulation charge. He was held on a preventative detention order at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections and was scheduled to be arraigned today.
