Nashua Man Accused Of Striking Woman Holding Her 1-year-old Child

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was arrested on domestic violence and child endangerment charges Sunday after Nashua Police said he struck a woman times and tried to strangle her while she was holding her 1-year-old child. Jan Garcia, 18, has been charged with two counts of felony domestic assault, seven counts of misdemeanor domestic assault and one count of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said the child was not injured in the incident and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they responded to a call of domestic violence on Sunday. They then began a search for Garcia and arrested the Lake Street resident when he was located about 5:30 a.m.

Garcia posted $1,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Monday.
