Nashua Man Charged with Witness Tampering
Richard Smith was preciously arrested in October, according to police logs, for simple assault.

On Nov 30 at approximately 7:12 p.m., members of the Nashua Police Department’s Youth Services Division arrested Richard Smith, age 49, of 58 Anvil Drive, Nashua, New Hampshire on two charges of Tampering with Witnesses or Informants, Class B Felony.
The arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Nashua Police Department Youth Services Division in which the defendant was reported to be attempting to have a witness in a case alter their testimony in an upcoming trial.
Tampering with a Witness or Informant is a Class B Felony and is punishable by 3 ½ to 7 years in New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. Smith was able to post $2,000 cash bail. His arraignment on these charges is scheduled for January 5, 2012 in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
