NASHUA, NH — A Gate City man will be sentenced in November after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to traffick drugs in New Hampshire. Donald Johnson, 34, of Nashua, admitted to the charge Wednesday. According to evidence gathered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force and the Nashua Police Department, Johnson was involved with a drug organization that distributed crack cocaine and other drugs to customers around the city.

Johnson was indicted in March after a year-long investigation. He also purchased crack from members of the organization and re-sold it to his own customers. Johnson was involved in a conspiracy to assist others in the organization, too, with their distribution activities, like allowing use of his home for transactions.

"Drug trafficking is a serious ongoing detriment to public health and safety," said U.S. Attorney Scott Murray in a statement. "Stopping the distribution of crack cocaine and other illegal drugs is a top priority for law enforcement. We will continue to partner with the FBI and other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify, arrest, and prosecute those who are responsible for distributing drugs in the Granite State."

This case was supported by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, a federal multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force that supplies supplemental federal funding to federal and state agencies involved in the identification, investigation, and prosecution of major drug trafficking organizations.

Joseph Bonavolonta, the special agent in charge of the FBI Boston Division, heralded the guilty plea as a strong partnership between federal and local authorities.

"Drug traffickers have no place in our community, and we will continue to aggressively investigate criminal organizations like this one that target our neighborhoods with their drug-related violent activity to ensure they are held accountable," he said.

Johnson will be sentenced in November.
