Nashua Man Pleads Guilty To Stolen Firearm Charge
Illya Scott pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Monday after being arrested last year with a stolen Berretta hidden in his waistband.

NASHUA, NH — A Gate City man has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on a stolen firearm charge. Illya Scott, 20, of Logan Road in Nashua, pleaded to a single count after being arrested in November 2018, in a possession of a .38 caliber Berretta BU PICO handgun. The gun, according to court testimony, was "tucked into the defendant's waistband" after police searched Scott during an arrest.
"In order to maintain public safety, it is essential to keep guns out of the hands of criminals," said U.S. Attorney Scott Murray. "We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute those who commit gun-related crimes."
The case was investigated by the Nashua police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Scott is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
