Nashua Man Strangled Woman: Police

Jose Vazquez was arrested Saturday and charged with assault and domestic violence.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was charged with assault and domestic violence after police said he strangled a woman over the weekend.

Jose Vazquez, 41, of Palm Street, was arrested Saturday.

Police said they responded to a downtown residence for a report of an assault. They made contact with a woman known to Vazquez; she said he strangled her, police said.

He was charged with second-degree assault, simple assault, and domestic violence. He was released on $5,000 bail pending an arraignment.
