Nashua Police Arrest 2 On Drug Charges

NASHUA, NH — Two men from Nashua are facing felony charges after being arrested on Tuesday after a traffic stop in the Gate City.

According to Lt. Joshua Albert of the Narcotics Intelligence Division, around 7:40 p.m. police arrested Matthew Espersen, 36, of Mountain View Street in Nashua, on a disobeying a police officer charge. Roger Levesque, 38, of Lock Street in Nashua, who police said was a passenger in the vehicle after it was stopped, was arrested on a felony acts prohibited-sale of a controlled drug-methamphetamine felony charge.

After the arrest, the narcotics division opened an investigation into both men, Albert said.

“Detectives learned that Levesque and Espersen were involved with selling illicit narcotics within the city of Nashua,” Albert said. “Based upon information developed during this investigation, members of the Narcotics Intelligence Division obtained evidence and alerted the POP Unit to take Espersen and Levesque into custody.”

Espersen was charged additionally with driving after revocation or suspension and a felony cocaine possession charge. Levesque was also charged with felony possession of heroin-fentanyl.

Albert said both men will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a later date.

Espersen, according to superior court records, has active drug possession charges from late July working their way through the court. He is due for arraignment in court on the prior charges on Aug. 19. Levesque has active drug possession and weapon charges in superior court from September 2020. He is due back in court for a status conference on Aug. 24.
