Nashua Police: Felon Found with Firearm on Palm Street

Nashua Police filed an arrest warrant against a Brookline man this week with a long criminal history who was found with a firearm in his vehicle last month.
Bret Cooper, 47, of Old Milford Road in Brookline, was arrested on Aug. 15, for the offense of convicted felon, a Class B felony.
According to a report by Lt. Denis Linehan, of the criminal investigation division of the department, officers were called to Palm Street to check on the wellbeing of a man sitting in a vehicle. The man was Cooper. While investigating why he was parked in the street, officers allegedly found a loaded 9 mm firearm inside the vehicle.

“The Criminal Investigation Division furthered this incident, and discovered that Cooper was a Convicted Felon,” Linehan said in a statement. “Based on this information a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Cooper for the offense of Convicted Felon class B felony.”
Cooper was arrested at the Rockingham County House of Corrections where he was being held on other charges. He refused bail and was arraigned in Nashua District Court on Aug. 18.

According to online reports, Cooper’s criminal history is lengthy.
Last week, he was arrested in Londonderry on drug charges, according to The Lawrence Eagle-Tribune. According to the newspaper, he was also charged with theft in Sandown in January 2012. Cooper was also taken into protective custody in Sandown in 2011.
Cooper was also arrested by Nashua Police for shoplifting in June 2011.
