NASHUA, NH — Much-needed rain is on the way for Nashua this weekend. Thunderstorms are likely Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—producing 2-3 inches of rain by the time the weekend's over, according to the National Weather Service, which issued this alert:

BEGINNING LATE FRIDAY AND CONTINUING THROUGH THIS WEEKEND THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION. GIVEN THE VERY WARM AND HUMID AIRMASS IN PLACE...THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND. GIVEN RECENT DRY CONDITIONS...WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED HOWEVER HEAVY DOWNPOURS MAY RESULT IN SOME AREAS OF
LOCALIZED FLOODING.

Nashua is in the middle of a record drought; a heat advisory is in effect through Friday night as temperatures soar close to 100 degrees.
