Nashua Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk, Striking, Killing Motorist

State police say Osman Konda, who was standing by a disable vehicle on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua, was struck and killed by Sarah Shaw.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua woman is accused of drunken driving on the Everett Turnpike and fatally striking and killing a man Saturday. New Hampshire State Police were sent to the northbound side of the turnpike at 11:45 p.m. for a report of a crash. When they arrived, the determined that a vehicle driven by Sarah E. Shaw, 36, was driving north when she "struck a motorist that was standing outside of his disabled vehicle," according to Lt. B. M. Trask of Troop B.

The victim was identified as Osman Konda, 53, also of Nashua.

"Konda was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and troopers subsequently placed Shaw under arrest for driving while intoxicated," Trask said.

The two right hand travel lanes of the turnpike were closed for four hours while the incident was investigated. State police were assisted by Nashua police, Nashua firefighters, the department of transportation, and AMR ambulance service.
