NY Man Accused Of Trying To Use ID Fraud To Buy A Car; Faces 14 Counts
Paul Patrick Green Jr. was accused of assaulting a Nashua cop Friday; had an active Virginia warrant; was out on bail for similar charges.

NASHUA, NH — A man from New York City is facing more than a dozen charges, including two felonies, accused of attempting to buy a vehicle with a fraudulent ID — while out on bail after being accused of similar crimes in Virginia.
Around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, police were sent to a car dealership in Nashua for a report of a man attempting to purchase a vehicle while presenting a false form of identification. During the investigation, according to Det. Lt. Joshua Albert of the department’s criminal investigation division, police attempted to arrest a suspect, Paul Patrick Green Jr., 23, of West 132nd Street in New York, New York, and he resisted.
“A struggle ensued in which Green assaulted an officer and continued to resist arrest,” he said. “As the officers attempted to restrain Green, various property items belonging to the car dealership were damaged. The officers were ultimately able to place Green under arrest.”

During the booking process, Green was accused of providing a false name and “was found to be in possession of stolen property,” Albert said.
Detectives worked the case and accused Green of attempting to purchase a vehicle from the dealership fraudulently. He was also found to be out on bail for “similar offenses” in Virginia, Albert said. Green also had an active warrant from the Chesterfield County VA Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear in court.

Green was arrested on identity fraud and attempted theft by deception, both felonies, as well as receiving stolen property, simple assault-extended term of imprisonment, unsworn falsification, two manufacture, sale, and possession of false identification, three criminal mischief, and four resisting arrest or detention charges. He was arraigned on Monday and is due back in Hillsborough County Superior Court South for a dispositional conference hearing on April 6.
Albert said the officer who was injured during the arrest was treated at a local hospital and released later. He said Green faces up to 50 years in prison and fines.
