
A Hudson pharmacy clerk was arrested yesterday, charged with taking controlled drugs from his employer.
Tyler Hughes, age 21, of 74 Speare Road, Hudson was arrested Dec. 20 at 11:30 p.m., charged with Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Consolidation Class A Felony; Possession of a Controlled Drug, Class B Felony; and Attempted Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Class B Felony.
Police said a Loss Prevention Manager for CVS, 242 Main Street, Nashua, reported that an employee was discovered to have been engaged in a pattern of stealing controlled drugs from the pharmacy.

Hughes was subsequently arrested by Nashua Police.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation which concluded that Hughes had stolen controlled drugs from CVS valued in excess of $1,500, which is a class A felony.

Additionally, it was determined that at the time of the investigation, Hughes had taken steps towards the commission of another theft of controlled drugs, as such, he was charged with the attempted theft, class B felony.
A Class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years in New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. A Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment in New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines.
Hughes was released from the Nashua Police Department on $20,000 cash or surety bail and has a pending arraignment date in Nashua District Court on January 23, 2012.
