Police: Registered Sex Offender Called Woman from Jail

Carlos Albarran formerly of Nashua is facing a felony tampering charge.

A registered sex offender from Nashua is facing another charge after allegedly calling a woman who had domestic violence prevention order against him from jail.

Carlos Albarran, 30, unknown address but formerly of Nashua, was arrested on July 25, on a felony tampering with witnesses and informants charge.

According to a press statement, on July 12, at just before 9 a.m., members of the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Operations Bureau were called to a home in the city for a report of a possible stalking/domestic violence violation.

The woman, according to the report, knew the alleged caller to be Albarran, and explained she had a domestic violence protection order against him.

An investigation ensued and police reportedly determined that he had called her from the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections in Manchester. More information was gathered and a warrant was issued against Albarran. He was arrested, refused bail, and arraigned on July 28.

According to online reports, Albarran has a lengthy criminal history.

In October 2003, he was summoned to Bangor, Maine, to answer charges of misuse of credit information after he, being 20 at the time, was with a teenage girl from Nashua who reportedly stole a wallet from a woman on a bus and used it to rent a hotel room.

In June 2004, he was found guilty of four counts of felonious sexual assault on a victim 13 or older but under 16 with an age difference of more than three years.

In March 2013, he was arrested on a simple assault/domestic violence charge, according to a post on Patch.

In January, he was arrested in Amherst on a warrant out of Nashua for criminal trespass and theft services, according to Amherst Today.
