The Powerball jackpot hit $800 million—a U.S. record that topped the $656 million Mega Millions prize in 2012.

The next Powerball drawing is Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Tickets are $2 and sold at dozens of retail outlets in Nashua.

The odds winning the grand prize are about 1 in 292 million. Powerball is offered in 44 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
