Sex Offender Arrested In Nashua: Police

Nashua police said they arrested Gregory Sheffield, who was convicted of sex crimes in Florida in 2003.

NASHUA, NH — A sex offender was arrested in Nashua this week after failing to properly register with authorities, police announced Thursday. Gregory Sheffield, 36, was charged with felony duty to inform. He refused bail and was held at the Valley Street Jail pending an arraignment Thursday in Nashua District Court.

In a statement, Nashua police Lt. Robert Page said officers recently started an investigation after receiving information Sheffield had been non-compliant with the terms of his sex offender registration status. In 2003, Sheffield was convicted of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious acts in Lake County, Florida, police said. Based on that conviction, he is required to register as a sex offender for rest of his life.
