Should Krispy Kreme open in Nashua? The city was mentioned when the chain announced plans to open four New Hampshire stores.

NASHUA, NH — Krispy Kreme is eyeing Nashua for its next store.

Last month, the donuts and coffee chain announced plans to open four New Hampshire stores and another three in Maine.

“The demand for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee continues to grow throughout New England,” said Patricia Perry, a Krispy Kreme vice president, in a statement.

The New Hampshire and Maine locations have yet to be announced.

It marks Krispy Kreme's second attempt to battle Dunkin’ Donuts for market share in New England. Krispy Kreme once operated several stores in Massachusetts but closed them in the 2000s. Its lone New England location is now in Connecticut at Mohegan Sun.

A Krispy Kreme official said Nashua, Manchester, Portsmouth, Newington, and Seabrook are being considered for the new stores, according to New Hampshire Business Review.
