A Special Thank You to Local Favorite Butter N’Jam

Best Crepes in New England! HELP SAVE BUTTER N'JAM! Visit and try before they say Goodbye!

It’s been a while since I’ve written my blog. Once upon a time before Covid I would blog to help support local bands and musicians. For most of 2020, like most of you, I have been holding up at home, enjoying my family time with my kids, spring cleaning, teleworking, learning how to Skype, Zoom, more cleaning, watch Disney Jr for the millionth time, more cleaning.. ok you get the point lol.

I miss gigs, I miss live music, I miss my family and friends, but I’ve learned how to appreciate more of the little things and when I’m having a semi sad day and find a piece of inspiration I embrace it, which brings me to the main reason for today’s blog.

Two words.. Butter N’Jam.. if you have never heard of them, in a nutshell, they make crepes. But not just any crepes, they are so much more then that. Located on Amherst Street, Butter N’Jam is a family run piece of heaven that serves up deliciousness and inspiration with each crepe they make.

Never have I been to an establishment that puts so much passion and care into their food. Most of their menu is customer inspired which explains the amazing variety of crepes that can be made for you from scratch in minutes!

S’mores, Nutella, Fruits, Cream and more! They are completely accommodating to any food preferences or intolerances.

(It’s one of the few places my son can AND will eat.)

As stated on their website, “Butter N Jam Opened June 2018 with one goal in mind: Creating an Environment where everyone is welcomed and knows how much we appreciate them sharing their time with us while. Our focus is to Provide dishes that are fresh, hearty and an experience that is simply unforgettable.”

They have in fact done that!

The first time I ordered from them, to-go, naturally, I was surprised to see a message written on my box. A little surprised, unexpected but it made me laugh and I appreciated the gesture. :)

The second time I ordered.. same deal. Just a little message of thank you and well wishes which honestly made my day. These little messages were just a small piece of their uniqueness.

So this afternoon, I’m tired, working overtime on practically no sleep and decided I want to DoorDash a piece of inspiration in the form of a Oreo crepe.

The doorbell rings, my bag is on my stairs! I’m excited! Open it up and I find a message saying the traditional well wishes that I now look forward to and then I read at the end that that sadly they will be closing by the end of the month.

Truth is, like many businesses, they were financially strained because of covid and just can’t generate enough money to survive. Another local small business not making it out of 2020.

I know, it’s crepes but to me it’s more then that. Although it would be amazing if they could generate enough money to stay afloat and survive this pandemic, the likelihood is slim. (Yes I considered a GoFund Me, but they apparently have one.) Any support is helpful, so donate if you can, however I do encourage all of you stop by and visit this cute little crepe place before they are gone.

I know crepes sound fancy, but really they’re just glorified carbs in deliciousness and because they’re so thin, you don’t feel all bloated and awful afterwards! We don’t have a lot of places like this in Nashua, you should really go in and embrace it before they are gone.

:(

And for a change, my message for you, Butter N’Jam.. thank you for the being a positive during this trying year, thank you for your passion for cooking and desire to make the would a better place with strawberries, Nutella and sweet cream.

Although you may have to close for now, please do try to come back. After this covid is over, there will still be a place for you. Maybe not in the same location as you are now, but anywhere will be sufficient, as long as you’re here serving up crepes of deliciousness and positive messages of appreciation. xo Don’t give up!

Much Love, and be safe everyone!
Bella
